Note: Your account is not charged when this error occurs. The error prevents the new card from being saved, but no payment is processed.

Cause

Error code CP4002 is a payment processing error that occurs due to a conflict with a previously stored payment method on your account. This can happen when an older card record on your account is incompatible with our current payment system, which prevents a new card from being added through the hub.

You may encounter this error if:
  1. You previously had a credit card on file and are now trying to add a new one.
  2. Your previous card has expired and you are attempting to replace it.

Solution

This error cannot be resolved on your own. Our support team needs to make a change on the back end of your account to clear the conflict before you can add your new card.
To resolve this error, please submit a billing support ticket and include the following information:
  1. The error code you are seeing (CP4002).
  2. The email address associated with your PMA hub.
  3. Confirmation that you are trying to add or update a credit card.
Our support team will remove the conflicting payment record from your account. Once this is done, you will be notified and can add your new card by following the steps in How Do I Add My Credit Card?
