How to Export to FTP

Info
FTP can be a valuable way for Custom plan users whose plan includes data exports to export their Data Builder reports. Data exports are not automatically included in all Custom plans; availability depends on the terms of your specific agreement. In this article, we will walk you through creating an FTP export, including selecting an FTP destination, scheduling data refreshes, and managing your exports to ensure seamless data transfer.

Begin in Your Hub

Select FTP from the left navigation pane under Exports, then click Create Export.

Click the blue plus sign to add a destination.

Select the type of FTP connection you want to use (FTP or SFTP). Then enter a name for your server, its hostname, your username and password.

Then click the Connect button. You will now be able to select the destination from the drop-down box. Choose a file format of CSV or JSON, and enter the Directory Path you want to use on your FTP server.

Choose whether you'd like to export a single report or group of reports from the Data Builder.

Schedule your refresh period. You can choose monthly, daily, weekly, or hourly. Then select a time that works well for you. We suggest setting the time for an hour before the start of your workday.

Remember: Each scheduled export will overwrite data in the date range of the Data Builder report.
  1. To accumulate data over time, choose a report date range with an end date of today or yesterday. When you are creating your report in Data Builder, choose a Custom Start option under Date Range to accumulate data over time.
  2. Fixed time frame options like Last 7 days will export only the most recent 7 days of data with each refresh. Data from before that period will not be overwritten.

Manage Existing Exports

Click the icons under Actions to edit, pause/resume, or delete an existing export, run the export now, or view export logs.
