Constant Contact Data Connector User Guide

Are you looking to streamline your email marketing reporting and gain deeper insights into your campaigns? This guide will walk you through setting up and using the Constant Contact data source in Power My Analytics. By integrating Constant Contact with our platform, you'll be able to automate your data collection, create comprehensive reports, and make data-driven decisions to improve your email marketing performance.



Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  1. An active Constant Contact account
  2. Your Constant Contact account username and password

Adding Constant Contact as a Data Source

  1. Log in to your Power My Analytics Hub.
  2. Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
  3. Click on + New Data Source.
  4. Select Constant Contact from the list of available sources.
  5. Enter your Constant Contact account credentials to authenticate.

Creating a Looker Studio Report

Follow these instructions to create a Looker Studio report using your Constant Contact data:
  1. After adding Constant Contact as a data source, go to Reports > Looker Studio in your PMA hub
  2. Click on Constant Contact under Create Looker Studio Report (this will open the official Looker Studio application in a new window)
  3. Google Looker Studio Configuration:
    1. Step 1:
      1. Name your data source (e.g., "Constant Contact - Your Organization")
      2. Select your Power My Analytics hub from the dropdown
      3. Optional: Leave "Use report template for new reports" checked to use the PMA demo template
      4. Click Next
    2. Step 2:
      1. User Account: Choose your Constant Contact account (for real data) or "Sample Account" (for sample data)
      2. Click Next
    3. Step 3:
      1. Click Connect in the top right to finalize the data source configuration
    4. Step 4:
      1. Click Create Report in the top right
      2. Ensure you include "today" in your report's date range to begin historical data storage

Key Reports and Fields

Constant Contact data in Power My Analytics offers a wide range of metrics and dimensions. Here are some popular metrics you can use in your reports:
  • Key Performance Metrics: List Contact Count, Clicks, Sends, Contacts Count, Opens, Open Rate, Unopened, Unopened Rate, Click Rate, Bounces, Bounce Rate, Unsubscribes, Unsubscribes Rate, Spam Count, Spam Rate
  • Campaign Metrics: Sends, Open Rate, Click Rate, Bounce Rate, Unsubscribes
  • List Metrics: Contacts

Limitations and Important Considerations

  1. Backfilling: All metrics are reported as lifetime values and data cannot be backfilled. Daily collection of lifetime data by PMA will begin from the day a report is created.
