Error: Missing GA4 Scopes

This article will address the following error:

Missing Google Analytics 4 Scopes

Cause

You may receive this error when connecting to a GA4 account. This is a result of insufficient permissions granted to Power My Analytics.

Solution

Step 1: Disconnect Google

Disconnecting and reconnecting a source will not impact any existing reports.
Go to your hub. Click Sources on the left navigation panel, and click the red icon next to the account you wish to remove.



Click Confirm.



Step 2: Reconnect to Google with the correct permissions

In your Hub, click Sources on the left navigation panel, then click +New Data Source.



Select Google. 



When the popup appears, choose your account.



Enable the following permissions:
  1. Edit Google Analytics management entities
  2. View and manage your Google Analytics data
Power My Analytics' connector will never edit, create, or delete anything in your Google Analytics 4 account. Google does not provide a read-only option for permissions.



Then click Continue.

After authorizing, try loading your report again. The error should be resolved.
