Connecting CallRail to Power My Analytics takes two quick steps: create an API key inside CallRail, then add CallRail as a data source in your Hub. This guide walks you through both, plus how to remove the connection later if you need to. For what you can report on once you are connected, see the
CallRail Data Connector User Guide.
CallRail is a Beta connector. It is available and supported now; while it is in Beta, some fields and behavior may still change as we continue to improve it.
Requirements
- An active CallRail account on any plan (API access is included in CallRail's base Call Tracking Intelligence package).
- A CallRail user with the Admin, Manager, or Reporting role. The Agent role cannot create API keys.
Create the key as an Admin. A CallRail API key can only see the accounts and companies that its creator can see. Manager and Reporting users are limited to their assigned companies, so a key they create will return only part of your data, with no error to warn you. To make sure Power My Analytics receives everything, have an Admin create the key.
Connect CallRail to Power My Analytics
Step 1: Create an API v3 key in CallRail
- Sign in to CallRail as an Admin.
- Click the Integrations icon in the left navigation.
- Under the Data Access heading, select API Keys.
- Click Create New API v3 Key.
- Leave the key read-only (the Allow Writes toggle should stay off). Read-only access is all Power My Analytics needs.
- Copy the key immediately and keep it somewhere safe.
CallRail displays your API key only once, at the moment you create it. If you leave the page without copying it, you will need to create a new key. Keys do not expire on their own; they stay valid until you delete them.
Step 2: Add CallRail as a data source in your Hub
- In your Power My Analytics Hub, select Sources from the menu.
- Click + Add new source.
- Choose CallRail from the connector gallery.
- Paste the API v3 key you copied from CallRail, then connect.
Once connected, Power My Analytics begins collecting your CallRail data, and you can build reports and export it to your preferred destination. To get started, see the
CallRail Data Connector User Guide.
Remove Your CallRail Data Source from Power My Analytics
Removing CallRail is a two-part process: first remove the data source from your Hub, then delete the API key in CallRail so access is fully revoked.
Step 1: Removing a CallRail Data Source from Your Hub
- In your Hub, select Sources from the menu.
- Locate your CallRail data source in the list.
- Open Action and select Remove Source.
Step 2: Removing Power My Analytics' Access in CallRail
Because Power My Analytics connects with an API key you created, deleting that key in CallRail fully revokes access.
- In CallRail, click the Integrations icon in the left navigation.
- Under Data Access, select API Keys.
- Find the key you created for Power My Analytics and delete it.
API keys are specific to the CallRail user who created them, so the key has to be deleted by that same user (or you can simply leave it in place if you plan to reconnect later).
