ShipStation is one of the few connectors that require an API key and secret to connect. This article will help you locate the information you need to start getting data right away.
Check Your Permissions
In your ShipStation account, verify that you have the necessary permissions in Account > User Management. If you are not the account owner, you must have either Administration or Configuration permissions to create an API key. It is not necessary to have both.
Create an API Key
Log in to your ShipStation dashboard. Click the Account Settings gear icon in the upper right corner.
Under Account in the left navigation pane, select API Settings.
Under Select API Version, you must choose V1 API. Then click Generate API Key.
A verification link will be sent to your account’s email address. Click on the verification link in the email, then repeat the previous step to generate a V1 API key again.
Choose an expiration date of 3, 6, or 12 months for the API key. Then click Generate.
Finally, click the copy icon to copy your API Key and API Secret.
Important: If you regenerate the API Keys, the old keys will fail to work and you will need to
reconnect in the Hub.
