Instagram Insights Posts Data is Inflated

This article will help to resolve the following problem:

An Instagram Insights report shows data for posts that does not align with the data shown in Instagram's own analytics.

Cause

Most of the time, our customers find this error in Google Sheets or Excel after building a table with Posts as a metric and Date as a dimension. Using Date as a dimension will result in the display of a sum of multiple days' values and the numbers will appear to be inflated.

Resolution

Instead of Date, use Timestamp.
