Microsoft Ads Data Connector User Guide

The following article is a guide to automating reports with your Microsoft Ads connector. It includes information on available data as well as currently unavailable data and tips on how to get the most out of your Microsoft Ads reports. To begin creating reports with your Microsoft Ads connector, you will need at least one Microsoft Ads account as well as access to Looker Studio or Google Sheets.



Available Data

  1. Key Performance Indicators - Impressions, clickthrough rate, clicks, conversions, and spend. View all of your trends in one place.
  2. Campaign breakdowns - Clicks, cost per click, impressions, spend, and conversion data.
  3. Ad Group breakdowns - Impressions, Impression shares, clickthrough rate, clicks, conversions, and spend.
  4. Keyword breakdowns Impressions, clickthrough rate, clicks, conversions, cost per acquisition, and spend.
  5. Search Query breakdowns Impressions, clickthrough rate, clicks, conversions, cost per acquisition, ROAS, and spend.
  6. Age and Gender demographic breakdowns - Campaign performance by clicks.
  7. Company demographic breakdowns - Company, industry, job function, campaign, status, and spend. Data available for company-targeted advertising only. 
  8. Location breakdowns - Campaigns, clicks, impressions, and CTR by country.
  9. Competition reporting - Show how well your ads are performing versus the competition. Data includes impression share, average positions of the competition, overlap rate, above rate, top of page rate, and outranking share.
  10. Goals reporting - Check progress on your goals by clicks, spend, conversion, revenue, cost per click, conversion rate, and ROAS.
  11. Complete List of Fields.

API Limitations

  1. Custom Fields  - Custom fields are not available.

Connection Requirements

A minimum of Advertiser Campaign Manager level access is required to retrieve data successfully. Multifactor Authentication must also be enabled. To grant access to an account in Microsoft Ads, go to Users and click Invite user. Make sure the Account role is set to Advertiser Campaign Manager or higher.



Backfilling

Power My Analytics will initially backfill 13 months of data when you first create a report. To access up to 2 years of data, run a backfill from your Hub.
