SharpSpring Data Connector User Guide
SharpSpring is a powerful marketing automation and customer relationship management platform that helps businesses streamline their marketing efforts and manage leads effectively. This guide will walk you through the process of connecting SharpSpring to Power My Analytics, creating reports, and understanding key metrics and considerations.
SharpSpring Connector Sunset
SharpSpring has decided to discontinue its service and API access.
- Power My Analytics will no longer be able to obtain and report SharpSpring data after August 15, 2024. This change affects all PMA customers using the SharpSpring connector.
- No new SharpSpring data will be available after August 15, 2024. Existing reports and dashboards using SharpSpring data will be affected.
- There is no direct migration option to another platform. Export your data before February 15, 2025 to maintain long-term access to your historical SharpSpring information.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- An active SharpSpring account
- Your SharpSpring email and password
Adding SharpSpring as a Data Source
- Log in to your Power My Analytics hub.
- Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
- Click + New Data Source.
- Select SharpSpring from the gallery of available sources.
- Enter your SharpSpring email and password to authenticate.
Creating a Looker Studio Report
Follow these steps to create a Looker Studio report using your SharpSpring data:
- In the Power My Analytics hub, go to Reports > Looker Studio
- Select SharpSpring under Create Looker Studio Report (this will open the official Looker Studio application in a new window)
- Google Looker Studio Configuration:
- Step 1:
- Name your data source (e.g., "SharpSpring - Organization Name")
- Choose your Power My Analytics hub from the dropdown
- Optional: Leave "Use report template for new reports" checked to use the PMA demo template
- Click Next
- Step 2:
- User Account: Select your SharpSpring account (for real data) or "Sample Account" (for sample data)
- Click Next
- Step 3:
- Choose "Sites" for reports
- Optional: Allow "Sites" modification in reports
- Click Connect (top right) to complete the data source configuration
- Step 4:
- Click Create Report (top right)
- Include "today" in your report's date range to begin historical data storage

SharpSpring offers a variety of metrics for your marketing reports. Some popular metrics include:
- Key Performance Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, Conversions, Cost, CTR, Conversion Rate
- Campaign Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPM, Conversions, Cost, Revenue
- Ad Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPM, Conversions, Cost, Revenue

Limitations and Important Considerations
- Backfilling: All SharpSpring fields are lifetime values and cannot be backfilled
