Campaign Monitor Data Connector User Guide

Campaign Monitor Data Connector User Guide

The following article is a guide to automating reports with your Campaign Monitor connector. It includes information on available data as well as currently unavailable data and tips on how to get the most out of your Campaign Monitor reports. To begin creating reports with your Campaign Monitor connector, you will need at least one Campaign Monitor account as well as access to Looker Studio or Google Sheets.

Available Data

  1. Campaign Performance - Campaigns sent, emails sent, delivery rate, open rate, click rate, unsubscribe rate, and bounce rate. Emails delivered, open rate, click rate, and CTOR by campaign and date sent.
  2. Journey Performance - Active journeys. Emails delivered, open rate, click rate, and CTOR by journey and status.
  3. Subscribers Overview - Total subscribers, yesterday, today, this week, this month, and this year. Active subscribers by date.
  4. Worldviews - Campaign, date sent, and worldview URL.
  5. Complete List of Fields.

API Limitations

  1. Lifetime Data - All Campaign Monitor metrics are "lifetime" and daily data is not reported.
  2. Email Body Text - Campaign Monitor's API does not provide the body text of emails.
  3. Live Data Limitation - Live data is not available. We pull lifetime data from campaign monitor daily at midnight. For this reason, our data may differ slightly from Campaign Monitor's reported data.
  4. URL Click Breakdown - The Campaign Monitor API does not provide a URL click breakdown summary. Campaign Monitor is willing to add this feature if they receive more customer feedback requesting this.
  5. Segments - Segments, such as user demographics, are not supported.
  6. Custom Fields - Custom fields are not available.

Connection Requirements

You must have the Campaign Monitor account's login credentials for a successful connection. Please follow the instructions in How to Connect to Campaign Monitor.

Backfilling

  1. Include "today" in your date range when you first connect.
  2. All data provided by the Campaign Monitor API is lifetime and cannot be backfilled. We will begin collecting data on the first day you create a report with us so you can gather historical data in the future.

Troubleshooting

Follow the instructions in our Basic Troubleshooting  guide to get your reports working again.
