ChartMogul Data Connector User Guide

ChartMogul Data Connector User Guide

Info
Get valuable insights into your subscription business by connecting your ChartMogul account to Power My Analytics. This guide will walk you through setting up ChartMogul as a data source and creating reports to track MRR movements, churn, retention, and customer growth.

Prerequisites

Before connecting ChartMogul to Power My Analytics, ensure you have:

  • A ChartMogul account
  • An API key for your ChartMogul account

Find Your ChartMogul API Key

You will need to enter your API key in Power My Analytics when connecting your ChartMogul account as a data source. To create or copy an API key, see ChartMogul's guide: Creating and Managing API Keys.

Notes
ChartMogul uses your API key as your Basic Auth username. If you are asked for a password, it can be left empty or set to the same value as the API key. When connecting in Power My Analytics, you only need to enter the API key itself.

Adding ChartMogul as a Data Source

  1. Go to your Power My Analytics hub and select Sources from the main menu.
  2. Click + Add new source and choose ChartMogul from the gallery of data sources.
  3. Enter the API key that you obtained from ChartMogul.
  4. Click Connect to authenticate and finish adding your ChartMogul account as a data source.

For step-by-step connection instructions, see How to Connect to ChartMogul.

Limitations and Important Considerations

  • Backfilling: Up to 2 years. PMA performs an initial backfill of 24 months of historical data when you first connect your ChartMogul account as a data source.
  • Monetary values in cents: ChartMogul provides monetary metrics (such as MRR, ARR, Activity MRR, Activity ARR, and Activity MRR Movement) as whole numbers of cents in your account currency. Divide these values by 100 to obtain the actual amount.
  • Supported tables: The ChartMogul connector currently provides the Activities and Customers tables; other ChartMogul reports are not yet available.
