How to Connect to Google Search Ads 360

Info
Looking to bring your Google Search Ads 360 data into a single, automated reporting workflow? This guide will walk you through connecting Google Search Ads 360 (SA360) as a data source in Power My Analytics, so you can centralize your cross-engine paid search metrics, create comprehensive reports, and make data-driven decisions to optimize your search advertising spend.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  • An active Search Ads 360 account (Search Ads 360 uses a three-tier account hierarchy: Manager, Sub-manager, and Client account)
  • A Google account with Manager or Sub-manager access to Search Ads 360 at read-only permissions or above (Google's "Read-only without billing" role is sufficient; "Email-only without billing" is not, because those users cannot sign in)
  • Permission to grant Power My Analytics access to your Google account during the OAuth flow

Add Google Search Ads 360 as a Data Source

  1. Log out of all Google accounts except the one you want to connect.
  2. Log in to your Power My Analytics hub at https://hub.powermyanalytics.com.
  3. Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
  4. Click + Add new source.
  5. Select Google Search Ads 360 from the list of available sources.
  6. Choose the Google account that has access to your Search Ads 360 account, then click Continue to sign in.
  7. Grant Power My Analytics access to your Google account and authorize the required permission scopes: See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Sheets spreadsheets; Connect to an external service; and View and manage your advertising data in DoubleClick Search. Click Allow.
Notes
Power My Analytics' connector will never edit, create, or delete anything in your account. The full-access wording appears because Google does not offer read-only options for these permissions. DoubleClick Search is the former name of Search Ads 360, so the Search Ads 360 permission appears under that name in Google's consent screen.
Once connected, Google Search Ads 360 will appear in your list of active data sources, and your Search Ads 360 data will automatically begin syncing to your Power My Analytics data warehouse. When the initial backfill is finished, you can use this data in Data Studio reports, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or export it to your preferred data destination.
Notes
Account hierarchy: Sign in with a Google account at or above the level of the Search Ads 360 account that owns the data you want to report on. Connecting at the Manager level covers the sub-manager and client accounts beneath it, while connecting at a client account limits your data to that account.
