Is Power My Analytics GDPR Compliant?

InfoYes — Power My Analytics is GDPR compliant. This article explains how PMA supports your GDPR obligations, including the option to store your data in an EU data center, how your data is protected, and how to request additional compliance documentation from our team.

PMA's Commitment to GDPR Compliance

Power My Analytics takes data privacy seriously. Our platform is designed to be compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which governs the collection, storage, and processing of personal data for individuals in the European Union.

For the full details of how we collect, use, and protect your data, please review our Privacy Policy. If you have questions not covered in this article, please contact our team — we're happy to help.

EU Data Residency: Store Your Data Within the EU

A key component of GDPR compliance for many organizations is data residency — the requirement that personal data be stored within the European Union and not transferred to or processed in countries outside of it.

Power My Analytics now offers a native EU Data Center option, available to all subscribers on any plan. When you sign up for PMA, you can choose to have your marketing data warehoused in Google Cloud's Europe-West3 region in Frankfurt, Germany — ensuring your data remains within EU borders from day one.

Info
Choosing the EU Data Center is available during the Warehouse step of the PMA onboarding process and is available on all plans — no upgrade required. If you did not select the EU Data Center during onboarding and need to switch, please contact our support team. For full details on the available regions and how to select them, see Choosing a US or EU Data Warehouse Region.

The two available storage regions are:

US Data Center (Default)US-Central1Council Bluffs, Iowa, USA

Data Security and Encryption

Regardless of which data center region you choose, your data is managed by Google according to their enterprise-grade security standards, including:

  • Encryption at rest using 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES-256) — the same protocol used to encrypt top-secret government documents and the current industry standard.
  • Encryption in transit — Google encrypts and authenticates all data in transit at one or more network layers whenever data moves outside physical boundaries controlled by Google.

Full Data Ownership: Sovereign SQL Warehouse (Custom Plan)

For organizations that require complete ownership and control of their data — beyond data residency — PMA's Sovereign SQL Warehouse solution is available on the Custom plan. This option allows you to store your data in your own MySQL database, hosted in a location and on infrastructure of your choosing.

The Sovereign SQL Warehouse is distinct from the EU Data Center option described above:
