If you manage multiple YouTube channels through a Content Management System (CMS) — common for Multi-Channel Networks (MCNs) and publishers — this guide explains how to connect your YouTube Content Owner account to Power My Analytics and what to expect during the setup process. What Is a YouTube Content Owner Account?
A YouTube Content Owner account (also called a CMS account) is a partner-level setup used to manage multiple YouTube channels and their content rights. This type of account is different from a standard YouTube channel or Brand Account. Content Owner accounts are typically used by MCNs, media publishers, and large organizations that oversee many channels from a single management interface in YouTube Studio.
Each Content Owner account has a unique Content Owner ID, which Power My Analytics uses to identify and collect data from all channels managed under that account.
Prerequisites
Before connecting your YouTube Content Owner account to Power My Analytics, make sure you have:
- A Google account with Content Owner (CMS) access to the channels you want to report on
- Your YouTube Content Owner ID (see below for how to find it)
- Access to grant YouTube-related permissions to Power My Analytics
Finding Your YouTube Content Owner ID
To find your Content Owner ID:
- Go to YouTube Studio and sign in with the Google account that has Content Owner access.
- Look at the URL in your browser's address bar. If your account has Content Owner access, the URL will look like:
https://studio.youtube.com/owner/YourContentOwnerID?o=YourContentOwnerID - The string after
/owner/ is your Content Owner ID. Copy this value, as you will need it during the connection process in Power My Analytics.
Tip: If your YouTube Studio URL does not include /owner/, your account may not have Content Owner access. Contact your organization's YouTube administrator to confirm your access level.
Connecting a YouTube Content Owner Account
- Log in to your Power My Analytics hub.
- Navigate to the Sources section in the menu.
- Click + Add New Source.
- Select YouTube Analytics from the gallery of options.
- Sign in to the Google account that has Content Owner (CMS) access. Make sure you are signed into the correct Google account before proceeding.
Grant Power My Analytics all YouTube-related permissions, including:
- View monetary and non-monetary YouTube Analytics reports for your YouTube content
- View and manage your assets and associated content on YouTube
- Manage your YouTube account
- When the dialog appears asking "Do you have a YouTube Content Owner ID?", click "Yes, I have one".
- Enter your Content Owner ID in the text field provided and click Continue.
Important: You must click "Yes, I have one" and enter your Content Owner ID during this step. If you click "No, I don't have one," only the single channel associated with your personal Google account will be connected, not the full set of channels managed through your CMS. If you accidentally skip this step, you will need to remove the YouTube Analytics source and reconnect it from scratch, entering your Content Owner ID when prompted.
After Connecting: What to Expect

After connecting with your Content Owner ID, please allow up to 24 hours for all of your managed channels to appear. You do not need to take any additional action during this time. If your channels have not appeared after 24 hours, please
contact our support team for assistance.
After you successfully connect your YouTube Content Owner account, your data source may initially show only one channel, typically the personal channel associated with your Google account. This is normal.
All of the channels managed under your Content Owner ID will be collected and added automatically within approximately 24 hours. This is because the channel configuration process runs on a scheduled daily cycle. Once that scheduled task completes, all of your managed channels will appear in your connected YouTube Analytics source.
Transferring a Content Owner Connection to a New Admin
If your organization is transitioning YouTube management from one admin to another (for example, when a team member leaves), the new admin will need to connect their own YouTube Analytics source with the Content Owner ID. Here's how to manage that transition:
- Revoke the previous admin's access. The previous admin (or your organization's IT team) should revoke Power My Analytics' access from the old Google account by visiting Google Security Settings, navigating to "Your connections to third-party apps & services," finding Power My Analytics, and removing the connection.
- Remove the old source from the hub. In your Power My Analytics hub, go to Sources and remove the YouTube Analytics source that was connected through the previous admin's account.
- Connect the new admin's account. Click + Add New Source, select YouTube Analytics, sign in with the new admin's Google account, and enter the same Content Owner ID when prompted.
- Wait up to 24 hours. The new connection may initially show only the new admin's personal channel. All managed channels will be collected and added automatically within approximately 24 hours as the scheduled configuration task completes.
Note: The new admin must have Content Owner (CMS) access on the YouTube account in order to retrieve all managed channels. If the new admin does not have Content Owner access, only their personal channel will appear.
Troubleshooting
Only one channel appears after connecting with a Content Owner ID
If you connected your YouTube Analytics source with a Content Owner ID but only see one channel, check the following:
- Have you waited 24 hours? The channel configuration runs on a scheduled daily cycle. All managed channels will appear after this process completes, typically within 24 hours of connecting.
- Did you enter the Content Owner ID during setup? If you clicked "No, I don't have one" when prompted, only your personal channel will be connected. To fix this, remove the YouTube Analytics source from your hub and reconnect it, making sure to click "Yes, I have one" and enter your Content Owner ID.
- Is your Content Owner ID correct? Double-check the ID by visiting YouTube Studio and verifying the ID in the URL bar (the string after
/owner/). - Does your Google account have Content Owner access? If your account only has standard channel access (not CMS/Content Owner access), the Content Owner ID will not retrieve additional channels. Confirm with your organization's YouTube administrator that your account has the correct access level.
If your channels have not appeared after 24 hours and you've confirmed the above, please submit a support ticket and our team will investigate further.
Content Owner ID dialog: "Yes, I have one" vs. "No, I don't have one"
During the YouTube Analytics connection flow, you will see a dialog asking whether you have a YouTube Content Owner ID. Here's how to decide:
- Click "Yes, I have one" if you manage multiple YouTube channels through a Content Management System (CMS), Multi-Channel Network (MCN), or publisher-level account. You will need your Content Owner ID, which you can find in the URL of YouTube Studio.
- Click "No, I don't have one" if you are connecting a single YouTube channel that you manage through a personal Google account or Brand Account.
If you are unsure whether your organization uses a Content Owner account, check with your YouTube administrator or look for the /owner/ path in your YouTube Studio URL.
