Criteo Data Connector User Guide

This guide will walk you through the process of connecting your Criteo account to Power My Analytics and creating reports using the data. Criteo is a powerful advertising platform specializing in retargeting, customer acquisition, and personalized ads. By integrating Criteo with PMA, you'll be able to automate your data collection and create insightful reports to optimize your advertising campaigns.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
  1. A Criteo account with Admin access
  2. Read access permissions for all scopes in your Criteo account
  3. Power My Analytics added and activated as an app in Criteo
  4. Your Client ID and Client Secret
Follow the instructions in How to Connect to Criteo to connect Power My Analytics as an app and obtain your Client ID and Client Secret.

Adding Criteo as a Data Source

  1. Go to your Power My Analytics hub and select Sources from the menu.
  2. Click + New Data Source and choose Criteo from the gallery.
  3. Name your data source and choose your preferred currency.
  4. Enter the previously saved Client ID and Client Secret.
  5. Click Connect to finalize the connection.

Creating a Looker Studio Report

Follow these steps to create a Looker Studio report using your Criteo data:
  1. After adding Criteo as a data source, navigate to Reports > Looker Studio in the PMA hub
  2. Select Criteo under Create Looker Studio Report (this will open the official Looker Studio application in a new window).
  3. Google Looker Studio Configuration:
    1. Step 1:
      1. Name the data source (e.g., "Criteo - Organization Name")
      2. Choose your Power My Analytics hub from the dropdown
      3. Optional: Leave "Use report template for new reports" checked to use the PMA demo template
      4. Click Next
    2. Step 2:
      1. User Account: Select your Criteo account (for real data) or "Sample Account" (for sample data)
      2. Click Next
    3. Step 3:
      1. Choose "Advertiser" for reports
      2. Optional: Allow "Advertiser" modification in reports
      3. Click Connect (top right) to complete the data source configuration
    4. Step 4:
      1. Click Create Report (top right)

Key Reports and Fields

Criteo offers a wide range of metrics for your advertising campaigns. Some popular metrics include:
  • Ads Overview Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPC, Cost, Sales, Revenue
  • Campaign Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, Cost, CPC, Sales, Revenue, ROAS

Limitations and Important Considerations

  1. Backfilling: PMA can retrieve up to 2 years of historical data from Criteo. When you first connect your Criteo account, an initial backfill of 13 months of data will be performed.
