Power My Analytics keeps your marketing data current with an automatic daily Data Sync. If you need updates more often than once a day, the Hourly Refreshes add-on lets your reports and data exports refresh as frequently as every hour. This article explains the default refresh schedule, what the Hourly Refreshes add-on does, who can get it, and how to request it.
How Power My Analytics Refreshes Your Data by Default
Every data source you connect is kept up to date by Data Sync, an automatic daily refresh. Here is what to expect out of the box:
- When it runs: Once per day, at midnight in your selected time zone.
- What it collects: The most recent 7 days of data from the source, so recent changes and late-reported conversions are captured.
- Where to check it: Sync status is shown at both the data source level and the account level.
You can set the time your sources sync under Actions > Set sync time. (For Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and YouTube, the sync time is fixed and cannot be changed.)
For most reporting needs, a daily Data Sync keeps your dashboards and exports current. If your workflow needs fresher data during the day, read on.
What the Hourly Refreshes Add-On Does
The Hourly Refreshes add-on lets you schedule how often your destinations update, all the way down to once per hour. When you set up a supported destination, you can choose a refresh frequency of monthly, weekly, daily, or Hourly.
Hourly Refreshes can be configured for these destinations:
- Google Sheets reports
- Data exports (BigQuery, MySQL, Azure SQL Database, PostgreSQL, Amazon S3, and FTP)
Live data required: An hourly schedule only makes sense for reports that include at least one
live data field. Live fields are queried in real time, so they can update within the hour; other fields follow the daily Data Sync. You can spot live fields by the yellow lightning bolt icon next to the field label in the
Schema Explorer.
Who Can Add Hourly Refreshes
Hourly Refreshes is available on any paid plan (Business, Pro, or Custom):
- Business and Pro: Available as an add-on for $49.95/month.
- Custom: Included when your plan agreement covers it.
Adding Hourly Refreshes is not a self-serve purchase in the hub, so you will not find it as a checkout option on your billing page. Instead, our team enables it on your account once you request it (see below).
The Free plan uses sample data only and does not connect live data sources, so Hourly Refreshes does not apply to Free accounts.
How to Request Hourly Refreshes
Because Hourly Refreshes is enabled by our team rather than self-serve, here is how to get started:
- Submit a ticket to our support team via the Submit a Ticket article, or email sales@powermyanalytics.com.
- Let us know you would like to add Hourly Refreshes and which destination(s) you would like to refresh hourly.
- We will confirm pricing for your plan, enable the add-on, and let you know when it is active.
Once the add-on is active on your account, you can select
Hourly as the refresh frequency when configuring a supported Google Sheets report or data export. (Hourly Refreshes works with the Google Sheets and Exports destinations, so you will also need the matching Spreadsheets or Exports add-on on your plan.) For step-by-step setup instructions, see the
How to Use Hourly Refreshes guide.
Pricing: Hourly Refreshes is included on Custom plans and available on Business and Pro plans for $49.95/month.
