How to Connect to Google Display & Video 360 (DV360)

Info
Looking to bring your programmatic campaign data into a single, automated reporting workflow? This guide will walk you through connecting Google Display & Video 360 (DV360) as a data source in Power My Analytics, so you can centralize your display, video, and connected-TV metrics, create comprehensive reports, and make data-driven decisions to optimize your programmatic advertising spend.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • An active Display & Video 360 subscription
  • A Google account with a user role on the DV360 partner or advertiser you want to report on; the Read only role is sufficient (avoid connecting with the Creative role, which cannot report cost metrics and will leave spend columns blank)
  • Permission to grant Power My Analytics access to your Google account during the OAuth flow

Add Google DV360 as a Data Source

  1. Log out of all Google accounts except the one you want to connect.
  2. Log in to your Power My Analytics hub at https://hub.powermyanalytics.com.
  3. Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
  4. Click + Add new source.
  5. Select Google DV 360 from the list of available sources.
  6. Choose the Google account that has access to your DV360 partner or advertiser, then click Continue to sign in.
  7. Grant Power My Analytics access to your Google account and authorize the required permission scopes: See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Sheets spreadsheets; Connect to an external service; Create, see, edit, and permanently delete your Display & Video 360 entities and reports; View and manage your reports in DoubleClick Bid Manager; and View and manage your advertising data in DoubleClick Search. Click Allow.
Notes
Power My Analytics' connector will never edit, create, or delete anything in your account. The full-access wording appears because Google does not offer read-only options for these permissions. DoubleClick Bid Manager is the former name of the DV360 reporting service, so its permission appears under that name in Google's consent screen.

Once connected, Google DV360 will appear in your list of active data sources, and your DV360 data will automatically begin syncing to your Power My Analytics data warehouse. When the initial backfill is finished, you can use this data in Data Studio reports, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or export it to your preferred data destination.

Notes
Partner vs. advertiser access: Connect with a Google account whose role covers the data you want to report on. Partner-level access covers all the advertisers beneath that partner, while advertiser-level access limits your data to that advertiser. If your reports come up empty, or the data doesn't match your own DV360 exports, confirm that the connected account can reach the specific partner whose data you're expecting.
