This guide will walk you through connecting your Omnisend account as a data source in Power My Analytics. By integrating Omnisend with our platform, you'll be able to automate your e-commerce and email marketing data collection, create comprehensive reports, and make data-driven decisions to improve your campaign performance.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- An active Omnisend account with a connected website or store
- Permission to create API keys in your Omnisend account
Step 1: Create an API Key in Omnisend
Power My Analytics connects to Omnisend using an API key generated in your Omnisend account. To create one:
- Log in to your Omnisend account.
- Click Store Settings in the left menu, then select the API keys tab.
- Click the Create API key button in the upper right corner.
- Enter a name for the API key, such as "Power My Analytics".
Under Select API key permissions, enable the following permissions:
- Campaigns
- Contacts
- Orders
- Products
- Carts
- Events
- Brands
- Click the Create API key button, then copy your API key. You will paste this key into the Power My Analytics hub in Step 2.
Important: Power My Analytics requires all seven permissions (Campaigns, Contacts, Orders, Products, Carts, Events, and Brands) to be enabled on the API key. If any of these permissions are missing, your reports will be incomplete or fail to sync.
Step 2: Add Omnisend as a Data Source in Power My Analytics
- Log in to your Power My Analytics hub at https://hub.powermyanalytics.com.
- Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
- Click + Add new source.
- Select Omnisend from the list of available sources.
- Paste the Omnisend API key you created in Step 1.
- Click Connect to authenticate and finish adding your Omnisend account as a data source.
Once connected, Omnisend will appear in your list of active data sources. Your campaign and e-commerce data from Omnisend will automatically begin syncing to your Power My Analytics data warehouse. When the initial backfill is finished, you can then use this data in Looker Studio reports, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or export it to your preferred data destination.
Tip: Omnisend's initial backfill brings in up to 13 months of historical data, and the connector supports up to 2 years of historical data overall. If you need to fill a longer time range or address a data gap after connection, you can run a manual backfill from the Action menu on your Omnisend data source.
Remove Your Omnisend Data Source from PMA
If you'd like to disconnect your Omnisend account from Power My Analytics, this can be done in two steps:
- Disconnect and remove your Omnisend data source from your Power My Analytics hub.
- Delete the Power My Analytics API key from your Omnisend account.
Step 1: Removing an Omnisend Data Source from Your Hub
- Go to your Power My Analytics hub at https://hub.powermyanalytics.com and click on Sources in the left sidebar.
- Find your Omnisend account in the list of connected sources. Click the three dots to open the Action menu.
- Click Remove source.
- Click Confirm to remove the Omnisend data source from PMA.
Your Omnisend data source is now disconnected from Power My Analytics.
Step 2: Delete the PMA API Key from Omnisend
For security, we recommend deleting the API key you created for Power My Analytics from your Omnisend account once it is no longer in use:
- Log in to your Omnisend account.
- Click Store Settings in the left menu, then select the API keys tab.
- Locate the "Power My Analytics" API key (or whatever name you assigned in Step 1) in the list.
- Click the action menu next to the key and select Delete.
- Confirm deletion when prompted.
The Power My Analytics API key has now been revoked from your Omnisend account.
