How to Connect to Shopware

How to Connect to Shopware

Info
Connecting Shopware to Power My Analytics takes two quick steps: create an integration in your Shopware Administration, then enter its keys and your store URL in your Hub. This guide walks you through both, plus how to remove the connection later if you need to. For what you can report on once you are connected, see the Shopware Data Connector User Guide.
Notes
Shopware is a Beta connector. It is available and supported now, and it appears in your Hub's source gallery with a BETA label. While it is in Beta, some fields and behavior may still change as we continue to improve it.

Requirements

  • A Shopware 6 store. Shopware 5 stores are not supported.
  • A Shopware Administration user who can create integrations under Settings > System > Integrations.
  • Your store's URL, starting with https:// (the address you use to open your storefront or Administration, without /admin).
  • No sign-in pop-up is needed. Shopware connects with integration keys that you paste into your Hub.

Connect Shopware to Power My Analytics

Step 1: Create an integration in Shopware

  1. Sign in to your Shopware Administration and go to Settings > System > Integrations.
  2. Click Add integration (labeled Create integration in some Shopware versions).
  3. Enter a name you will recognize, such as "Power My Analytics".
  4. Choose the integration's access:
    • Turn on Administrator for full access, or
    • Select a role that can view your orders and customers. You can create a role under Settings > System > Users & Permissions.
  5. Copy the Access key ID and the Secret access key and keep them somewhere safe. Shopware shows the secret access key only once.
  6. Click Save.
Notes
Lost your secret access key? Open the integration in Shopware and regenerate its keys. Regenerating replaces both the access key ID and the secret access key, so use the new pair in your Hub. If Shopware is already connected, connect it again with the new keys.

Step 2: Add Shopware as a data source in your Hub

  1. In your Power My Analytics Hub, select Sources from the menu.
  2. Click + Add new source.
  3. Choose Shopware from the connector gallery. You can type "Shopware" in the search box to find it quickly.
  4. In the Connect Shopware window, enter:
    • Store URL: your store's base address, for example https://your-store.example.com
    • Access Key ID: the access key ID from Step 1
    • Secret Access Key: the secret access key from Step 1
  5. Click Connect.
Notes
Does your store limit API access? Power My Analytics connects from cloud infrastructure without fixed IP addresses, so we cannot be added to an IP allowlist. If your store or hosting protects the Admin API with an IP allowlist, a password prompt (basic authentication, common on staging sites), or firewall rules, ask your developer or host to allow access to your store's /api path before you connect.
Your Shopware store is now connected. It appears as one account under your Shopware data source, labeled with your store URL, and Power My Analytics begins backfilling up to 24 months of your order history. To get started, see the Shopware Data Connector User Guide.

Troubleshooting Connection Errors

  • The connection fails when you click Connect: Check that the Store URL starts with https:// and is your store's base address (without /admin), and that both keys are copied in full with no extra spaces.
  • The keys are correct, but the connection still fails: Your store or hosting may be blocking the Admin API. Ask your developer or host to allow access to your store's /api path (see the note above).
  • You can't find Settings > System > Integrations: Your Shopware user may not have permission to manage integrations. Ask a Shopware administrator to create the integration for you.
  • Orders or customers are missing after connecting: If the integration uses a role instead of Administrator, confirm the role can view orders and customers.
For other issues, see Basic Troubleshooting.

Remove Your Shopware Data Source from Power My Analytics

  1. In your Hub, select Sources from the menu.
  2. Locate your Shopware data source in the list.
  3. Open the three-dot Action menu and select Remove source, then click Confirm.
Notes
Removing the source stops Power My Analytics from collecting your Shopware data. Any Data Studio reports that use your Shopware data source will stop returning data once the source is removed. To revoke the keys as well, delete the Power My Analytics integration in Shopware under Settings > System > Integrations.
