Shopware Data Connector User Guide

Shopware Data Connector User Guide

Info
Shopware is an open-source e-commerce platform used by online retailers across Germany and Europe. With the Power My Analytics Shopware connector, you can bring your Shopware 6 orders, revenue, product line items, and customers into your reports. This guide covers what you need before you connect, how to add Shopware as a data source, how to build your first report, and where to find the available fields.
Notes
Shopware is a Beta connector. It is available and supported now, and it appears in your Hub's source gallery with a BETA label. While it is in Beta, some fields and behavior may still change as we continue to improve it. We will expand this guide as the connector develops, and your feedback helps shape what comes next.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  • A Shopware 6 store, and a Shopware Administration user who can create integrations (Settings > System > Integrations).
  • A Shopware integration for Power My Analytics, with either the Administrator option turned on or a role that can view your orders and customers.
  • The integration's Access key ID and Secret access key. You will create these in Shopware and paste them into your Hub, along with your store's URL. Shopware shows the secret access key only once, so copy it before you save the integration.

Adding Shopware as a Data Source

  1. In your Power My Analytics Hub, select Sources from the menu.
  2. Click + Add new source and choose Shopware from the gallery. You can type "Shopware" in the search box to find it quickly.
  3. In the Connect Shopware window, enter your Store URL, Access Key ID, and Secret Access Key, then click Connect.
Your store appears as one account under your Shopware data source, labeled with your store URL, and Power My Analytics begins backfilling up to 24 months of your order history.

For step-by-step connection instructions, including how to create the integration in Shopware, see How to Connect to Shopware.

Creating a Data Studio Report

  1. In your Hub, go to Reports > Data Studio and click the orange + Create report button.
  2. In the Templates window, select Single sources, find Shopware, and click Open in Data Studio.
  3. In Data Studio, click Authorize if you are prompted, then select your Power My Analytics Hub and the Shopware account you connected.
  4. Click Connect (top right), then click Create report.

Key Reports and Fields

The Shopware connector provides four tables. Here are the metrics available in each:
  • Orders (one row per order, dated by order date): Orders, Average Order Value, Total Gross, Total Net, Order Tax, Position Price, and Shipping Total.
  • Line Items (the products on each order): Quantity, Unit Price, Total Price, Item Tax, and Average Items Per Order.
  • Customers (your customer records): Signups.
  • Order Dimensions (descriptive fields for each order, with no metrics of its own): Order Number, Order Status, Payment Status, Delivery Status, Currency, billing and shipping City, Country, and Country Code, plus customer identifiers.
To break down and group your data, use dimensions such as Date, Product Name, Product Number (typically your SKU), Item Name, Customer Full Name, Customer Email, Customer Company, and date parts such as Week, Year Month, and Day Of Week.
Average Order Value, Average Items Per Order, and Order Tax are calculated by Power My Analytics from the underlying values, so they stay accurate when you change the date range or group your data.

For the complete list of available Shopware fields, open the Shopware Schema Explorer in your Hub.

Limitations and Important Considerations

  • Backfilling: Power My Analytics backfills up to 24 months of your order history when you first connect your Shopware store as a data source.
  • Beta connector: While Shopware is in Beta, fields, configuration options, and behavior may change. If a field is renamed or removed, you may need to update the reports that use it.
  • Orders are dated by order date: Your daily data sync refreshes orders placed in the last 7 days. If an older order changes later (for example, it is marked paid, shipped, cancelled, or refunded), run a manual backfill from Sources > Action > Backfill data range that covers the order date to update it in your reports.
  • Payment and delivery details: Payment Status reflects the order's first payment transaction, and Delivery Status and the shipping address fields reflect the order's first delivery.
  • Line Items include products only: Promotions and other non-product lines are not included, so line item totals can differ from your order totals.
  • Currencies: Amounts are reported in the currency each order was placed in. If your store sells in more than one currency, add Currency to your tables and charts before totaling revenue.
  • No IP allowlisting: Power My Analytics connects from cloud infrastructure without fixed IP addresses. If your store's Admin API is protected by an IP allowlist, a password prompt (basic authentication), or firewall rules, allow access to your store's /api path.

Unavailable Data

The following Shopware data is not currently available through the Power My Analytics Shopware connector:
  • Sales channel name or ID (orders from all sales channels in your store are included together)
  • Promotion codes, discount amounts, affiliate codes, and campaign codes
  • Refund and return amounts
  • Product catalog data, such as stock levels, categories, and manufacturers
  • Storefront traffic and conversion rates
  • Shopware 5 stores
If there is a Shopware field or report you would like to see, please submit a ticket with a description or screenshot of what you need. Requests during Beta help us decide what to add next.

Troubleshooting

If your Shopware data does not look the way you expect, start with Basic Troubleshooting. A few Shopware patterns are worth checking first:
  • The connection fails when you click Connect: Check that your Store URL is your store's base address starting with https:// (without /admin), and that your Access Key ID and Secret Access Key are copied in full with no extra spaces.
  • The keys are correct, but the connection still fails: Your store or hosting may block the Admin API with an IP allowlist, basic authentication (common on staging sites), or firewall rules. Ask your developer or host to allow access to your store's /api path.
  • Your data source stopped syncing: The integration's keys may have been regenerated, or the integration deleted, in Shopware. Connect your Shopware source again with the current keys.
  • Orders or customers are missing: If your integration uses a role instead of the Administrator option, confirm the role can view orders and customers.
  • An older order shows an outdated status: Run a manual backfill that covers the order date.
Still have questions? Submit a ticket and our support team will be glad to help. Please include the connector name and a short description of what you are seeing; screenshots are always helpful.
