How to Connect to Stripe

How to Connect to Stripe

Info
Looking to bring your Stripe payment data into a single, automated reporting workflow? This guide will walk you through connecting Stripe as a data source in Power My Analytics, so you can centralize your transaction, subscription, and dispute metrics, create comprehensive reports, and make data-driven decisions about your business's financial performance.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
If you do not yet have the Administrator role, follow Step 1 below to grant it before continuing.

Step 1: Grant Administrator Access in Stripe

Power My Analytics requires the Administrator role to authorize the connection and pull your Stripe data. To grant Administrator access to a user in Stripe:
  1. Open your Stripe settings and go to Invite team members.
  2. Under Admin Roles, check Administrator.
  3. Click Send invites.
  4. Have the invited user accept the invitation before continuing.
Notes
Power My Analytics' connector will never edit, create, or delete anything in your Stripe account. The Administrator role is required because Stripe's API restricts the breadth of reporting data needed by the connector to Administrators.

Step 2: Add Stripe as a Data Source in Power My Analytics

  1. Log in to your Power My Analytics hub at https://hub.powermyanalytics.com.
  2. Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
  3. Click + Add new source.
  4. Select Stripe from the list of available sources.
  5. Sign in to your Stripe account using credentials with the Administrator role from Step 1.
  6. Authorize the requested permission scopes to complete the connection.
Once connected, Stripe will appear in your list of active data sources. Your Stripe data will automatically begin syncing to your Power My Analytics data warehouse — 13 months of historical data is imported automatically on the initial backfill, with up to 2 years available via manual backfill. When the initial backfill is finished, you can use this data in Looker Studio reports, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or export it to your preferred data destination.
