How to Connect to Google Campaign Manager 360

How to Connect to Google Campaign Manager 360

Info
Connecting Google Campaign Manager 360 (CM360) to Power My Analytics takes two quick steps: confirm your Campaign Manager 360 access, then sign in with Google from your Hub. This guide walks you through both, plus how to remove the connection later if you need to. For what you can report on once you are connected, see the Google Campaign Manager 360 Data Connector User Guide.
Notes
Google Campaign Manager 360 is an Alpha connector. It is newly released and available for early access, so fields, configuration options, and behavior may change as we build it out. If Google Campaign Manager 360 does not appear when you add a new source in your Hub, submit a ticket to request access.

Requirements

  • A Google account with a Campaign Manager 360 user profile that can access the advertisers you want to report on.
  • A user role with reporting access (permission to create and run reports) in Campaign Manager 360.
  • No API key is needed. Campaign Manager 360 connects with a standard Google sign-in.

Connect Google Campaign Manager 360 to Power My Analytics

Step 1: Confirm your Campaign Manager 360 access

  1. Sign in to Campaign Manager 360 with the Google account you want to connect.
  2. Check that you can open the advertisers you want to report on and that you can create and run reports. If you cannot, ask your Campaign Manager 360 administrator to update your user profile first.

Step 2: Add Google Campaign Manager 360 as a data source in your Hub

  1. In your Power My Analytics Hub, select Sources from the menu.
  2. Click + Add new source.
  3. Choose Google Campaign Manager 360 from the connector gallery. You can type "Campaign Manager" in the search box to find it quickly.
  4. Choose the Google account that has your Campaign Manager 360 user profile and sign in.
  5. Review the permissions Google lists, including access to view and manage your Campaign Manager 360 reports, and click Allow.
Notes
Why the reports permission? Power My Analytics collects your data by running reports in Campaign Manager 360, so Google asks you to allow access to view and manage your reports. Google may show this permission under DoubleClick for Advertisers, the former name of Campaign Manager 360. Power My Analytics does not change your campaigns, ads, or trafficking settings, but you may see the reports it creates in your Campaign Manager 360 reports list.
Your Google Campaign Manager 360 account is now connected. Power My Analytics finds every advertiser with reporting data from the last 24 months that your user profile can access, adds each one as an account under your data source, and begins backfilling up to 24 months of history. To get started, see the Google Campaign Manager 360 Data Connector User Guide.

Troubleshooting Connection Errors

  • The connection fails or no advertisers appear: The Google account you signed in with may not have a Campaign Manager 360 user profile, or its user role may not include reporting access. Ask your Campaign Manager 360 administrator to confirm your access, then connect again.
  • You signed in with the wrong Google account: If you are signed in to several Google accounts, sign out of the ones you do not want to use, then connect again and choose the account that has your Campaign Manager 360 user profile.
  • An advertiser is missing: Only advertisers that your user profile can access and that have reporting data in the last 24 months are added.
  • A Permissions Required message appears after you sign in: The Campaign Manager 360 reports permission was left unchecked on Google's permissions screen. Click Grant permissions and check every box Google lists. For full steps, see Error: Missing Google Campaign Manager 360 Scopes.
For other issues, see Basic Troubleshooting.

Remove Your Google Campaign Manager 360 Data Source from Power My Analytics

  1. In your Hub, select Sources from the menu.
  2. Locate your Google Campaign Manager 360 data source in the list.
  3. Open the three-dot Action menu and select Remove source, then click Confirm.
Notes
Removing the source stops Power My Analytics from collecting your Campaign Manager 360 data. Any Data Studio reports that use your Google Campaign Manager 360 data source will stop returning data once the source is removed.
