How to Connect to TikTok Ads
Looking to bring your TikTok Ads data into a single, automated reporting workflow? This guide will walk you through connecting TikTok Ads as a data source in Power My Analytics, so you can centralize your TikTok ad performance metrics, create comprehensive reports, and make data-driven decisions to improve your campaign results.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
If you do not yet have Admin access, follow Step 1 below to grant it before continuing.
Step 1: Grant Admin Access in TikTok Business Center
Power My Analytics requires Admin access to authorize the connection and pull your ad data. To grant Admin access to a user in TikTok Business Center:
- Log in to TikTok Business Center and click on the Users tab.
- Open the Members section and click Invite member.
- Under Access Settings, select Admin.
- Send the invitation, and have the invited user accept it before continuing.
Power My Analytics' connector will never edit, create, or delete anything in your TikTok account. Admin access is required because TikTok's API limits ad data access to Admins of the Business Center.
Step 2: Add TikTok Ads as a Data Source in Power My Analytics
- Log in to your Power My Analytics hub at https://hub.powermyanalytics.com.
- Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
- Click + Add new source.
- Select TikTok Ads from the list of available sources.
- Sign in to TikTok using the account credentials with Admin access from Step 1.
- Authorize the requested permission scopes to complete the connection.
Once connected, TikTok Ads will appear in your list of active data sources. Your TikTok ad data will automatically begin syncing to your Power My Analytics data warehouse. When the initial backfill is finished — up to 2 years of historical data — you can use this data in Looker Studio reports, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or export it to your preferred data destination.
Time zone: TikTok's API defaults to UTC. You can adjust the time zone for your main TikTok Ads account using the time zone selector in your Hub. Sub-accounts cannot be adjusted individually, and any data collected before the time zone change will remain in the previous time zone setting.
