Instagram Insights Error: "Unable to Get Live Data for This Component" When Using Engagement or Post Engagement Rate
This article will help to resolve the following problem:
In Looker Studio, an Instagram Insights report using the Engagement or Post Engagement Rate fields may display the error: "Unable to get live data for this component. Please try again in a few minutes."
Cause
The Engagement and Post Engagement Rate fields are deprecated and no longer supported by Instagram. This is a limitation of Instagram's API.
Solution
- Use the field Total Interaction in place of Engagement.
- Use a calculated field with Total Interaction divided by Lifetime Impressions in place of Post Engagement Rate.
