Get valuable insights into your email marketing, automation, and sales performance by connecting your ActiveCampaign account to Power My Analytics. This guide will walk you through setup, reporting capabilities, and important considerations.

Prerequisites

Before connecting ActiveCampaign to Power My Analytics, ensure your ActiveCampaign account has access permissions for:
  1. Accounts
  2. Campaigns
  3. Contacts
  4. Deals

Adding ActiveCampaign as a Data Source

  1. Log in to your ActiveCampaign account and go to Settings > Developer.
  2. Copy your URL and Key from the API Access section.
  3. In the Power My Analytics hub, navigate to Sources.
  4. Click + New Data Source and select ActiveCampaign.
  5. Enter your API URL and API Key.
  6. Click Connect to authenticate.

Creating a Looker Studio Report

Follow these steps to create a Looker Studio report using your ActiveCampaign data:
  1. In the PMA hub, navigate to Reports > Looker Studio
  2. Select ActiveCampaign under Create Looker Studio Report (this will open the official Looker Studio application in a new window)
    1. Step 1:
      1. Name your data source (e.g., "ActiveCampaign - Organization Name")
      2. Power My Analytics Hub: Choose your PMA hub from the dropdown
      3. Optional: Leave "Use report template for new reports" checked to use the PMA demo template
      4. Click Next
    2. Step 2:
      1. User Account: Select your ActiveCampaign account (for real data) or "Sample Account" (for sample data)
      2. Click Next
    3. Step 3:
      1. Click Connect (top right) to complete the data source configuration
    4. Step 4:
      1. Click Create Report (top right)

Key Reports and Fields

The ActiveCampaign connector provides access to a variety of data, including:
  • Key Performance Metrics: Total Contacts, Total Clicks, Total Automations, Total Deals
  • Campaign Metrics: Sends, Opens, Clicks, Unsubscribes, Bounces, Open %, Click to Open %, Click %, Unsubscribe %, Forward %, Bounce %
  • Contacts Metrics: Contacts Added
  • Deals Metrics: Number of Deals, Deal Status, Deal Value, Day Of Month (Last Sent)

Limitations and Important Considerations

  • Campaigns: The Campaigns table provides lifetime data values only.
  • Contacts: The Contacts table is date-dependent and only shows contacts by the date they were created. It is not currently possible to report this table as lifetime.
  • Account Contacts: Account Contacts is a calculated field provided by Power My Analytics and is not available in the ActiveCampaign API.

Unavailable Data

  • List dimensions: List dimensions are not available through the connector. This is a limitation of ActiveCampaign’s API.

  • Marketing Revenue
  • Spam Complaints
