AdRoll Data Connector User Guide
This guide provides comprehensive instructions for setting up and utilizing the AdRoll data source in Power My Analytics. AdRoll is a powerful advertising platform specializing in retargeting, cross-channel advertising, dynamic ads, email marketing, and campaign automation. By integrating AdRoll with PMA, you can streamline your marketing data collection and analysis, saving time and improving your reporting capabilities.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have:
- An active AdRoll account
Administrator or General User role in your AdRoll account
- A Power My Analytics account
Adding AdRoll as a Data Source
- Log in to your Power My Analytics hub.
- Navigate to the Sources section in the main menu.
- Click on + New Data Source.
- Select AdRoll from the list of available data sources. You will be prompted to sign in to your AdRoll account.
- Once connected, AdRoll will appear in your list of active data sources.
Creating a Looker Studio Report
To create a Looker Studio report using your AdRoll data:
- In your PMA hub, go to Reports > Looker Studio.
- Click on AdRoll under Create Looker Studio Report. A new window will open with the official Looker Studio application.
- Google Looker Studio Configuration:
- Step 1:
- Rename "Untitled Data Source" to a unique name (e.g., "AdRoll - Your Organization Name")
- Select your Power My Analytics hub from the dropdown
- Optional: Leave "Use report template for new reports" checked if you want to use the PMA demo template
- Click Next
- Step 2:
- User Account: Select your AdRoll account for real data or choose "Sample Account" for sample data
- Click Next
- Step 3:
- Choose "Advertisables" and "Currency" for your reports
- Optional: Allow "Advertisables" modification in reports
- Click Connect in the top right corner
- Step 4:
- Click Create Report in the top right corner

AdRoll data in Power My Analytics offers a wide range of metrics and dimensions. Here are some popular metrics you can use in your reports.
- Key Performance Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPC, Cost
- Campaign Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPC, Cost
- Ad Metrics: Impressions, Clicks, CTR, CPC, Cost
- Ad Placement Metrics: Spend, Impressions, CPM, Clicks, CTR
Limitations and Important Considerations
- Backfilling: AdRoll data can be backfilled for up to 2 years. We initially backfill 13 months of data when you first create a report.
- Data Refresh Time: AdRoll data in Power My Analytics is updated daily at midnight in your local time zone.
