Amazon DSP (demand-side platform) is Amazon's programmatic advertising platform for buying display, video, audio, and streaming TV ads on and off Amazon. With the Power My Analytics Amazon DSP connector, you can bring your Amazon DSP orders, line items, ads, and daily performance data (spend, impressions, conversions, video engagement, and fees) into your reports. This guide covers what you need before you connect, how to add Amazon DSP as a data source, how to build your first report, and which reports and metrics are available.
Amazon DSP is a Beta connector. It is available and supported now; while it is in Beta, some fields and behavior may still change as we continue to improve it. We will expand this guide as the connector develops.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- An active Amazon DSP account, with your DSP advertisers linked to an Amazon Ads manager account that your Amazon login can access. Power My Analytics finds your DSP advertisers through the manager accounts your login can see.
- A Login with Amazon (LwA) security profile in the Amazon Developer Console, with Amazon Ads API access assigned to it (including the profile and advertising::campaign_management scopes).
- The Client ID and Client Secret from that security profile. You will paste these into your Hub when you add the source.
- The Power My Analytics Amazon DSP return URL added to your security profile's Allowed Return URLs.
If you already connect Amazon Ads to Power My Analytics, you can use the same security profile. You only need to add the Amazon DSP return URL to it.
How to Connect to Amazon DSP walks you through every step.
Amazon DSP or Amazon Ads? Amazon DSP and Amazon Ads are separate connectors. Use Amazon DSP for programmatic campaigns you run in the Amazon DSP console. For Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display campaigns, use the
Amazon Ads connector.
Adding Amazon DSP as a Data Source
- In your Power My Analytics Hub, select Sources from the menu.
- Click + Add new source and choose Amazon DSP from the gallery.
- Select your Region (North America (NA), Europe (EU), or Far East (FE)), then enter your Client ID and Client Secret.
- Click Connect, sign in with the Amazon account that has access to your DSP advertisers, and allow Power My Analytics access.
Once you're connected, your DSP advertisers appear as accounts named with the advertiser name, marketplace, and advertiser ID (for example, "Advertiser Name - United States (1234567890)"). Each region connects as its own data source, so if you have advertisers in more than one region, add Amazon DSP once for each region.
Creating a Data Studio Report
- In your Hub, go to Reports > Data Studio and click the orange + Create report button.
- In the Templates window, select Single sources, find Amazon DSP, and click Open in Data Studio.
- In Data Studio, click Authorize if you are prompted, then select your Power My Analytics Hub and the Amazon DSP data source you connected.
Configure your Amazon DSP data source:
- Accounts: Select the Amazon DSP advertisers you want to report on.
- Click Connect (top right), then click Create report.
Key Reports and Fields
The Amazon DSP connector provides six reports:
- Performance Campaigns: daily performance by order, line item, and ad (creative).
- Performance Inventory: daily performance by site (where your ads ran), order, and line item.
- Performance Audience: daily performance by order, from Amazon DSP's audience report.
- Orders: the current settings for each order (campaign), such as status, flight dates, and optimization goal.
- Line Items: the current settings for each line item, such as bidding, pacing, and targeting.
- Ads: the current details for each ad (creative).
You can add order, line item, and ad details to charts built on the performance reports. For example, add Order Name to a chart of Total Cost from Performance Campaigns, or Line Item Name to a chart of Impressions by Site from Performance Inventory. Order Name works with all three performance reports, Line Item Name works with Performance Campaigns and Performance Inventory, and Ad Name works with Performance Campaigns.
- All three performance reports: Date (plus Year, Quarter, Year Quarter, Year Month, Week, Year Week, Month, Month Day, Day Of Week, and Day Of Month), Advertiser ID, Order ID, Order Currency, Entity Name
- Performance Campaigns: Line Item ID, Ad ID
- Performance Inventory: Line Item ID, Site
These metrics are available in Performance Campaigns, Performance Inventory, and Performance Audience. For conversion metrics, the base metric counts both click-through and view-through conversions; the Clicks version counts click-through conversions only, and the Views version counts view-through conversions only.

Limitations and Important Considerations
- Backfilling: Amazon DSP makes about the last 94 days of performance data available, through yesterday. When you first connect, Power My Analytics backfills the available history (up to 94 days). Data older than that can't be retrieved from Amazon, but Power My Analytics keeps the data it collects, so your reporting history grows from the day you connect.
- Daily data sync: Each day, Power My Analytics re-requests the last 14 days of Amazon DSP performance data, because Amazon can update recent conversion results.
- Today's data: Performance data runs through yesterday. Today's results appear after the next daily sync.
- Beta connector: While Amazon DSP is in Beta, fields, configuration options, and behavior may change. If a field is renamed or removed, you may need to update the reports that use it.
- Current settings only: The Orders, Line Items, and Ads reports show the current settings for each item, not a history of past changes.
- Currencies: Spend, sales, and fee metrics are reported in each order's currency (see Order Currency), without conversion. If your advertisers use different currencies, report on them separately or convert the values before totaling.
- Regions: Each Amazon DSP data source covers one region (North America, Europe, or Far East). To report on advertisers in more than one region, add a data source for each region.
Unavailable Data
The following Amazon DSP data is not currently available through the Power My Analytics Amazon DSP connector:
- Audience segment names and IDs (Performance Audience reports by order)
- Hourly performance data
- Performance data older than about 94 days, which Amazon does not provide
If there is an Amazon DSP field or report you would like to see, please
submit a ticket with a description or screenshot of what you need. Requests during Beta help us decide what to add next.
Troubleshooting
If your Amazon DSP data does not look the way you expect, start with
Basic Troubleshooting. A few Amazon DSP-specific issues are worth checking first:
- Amazon shows an error about the return URL or redirect URL when you sign in: The Amazon DSP return URL is missing from your security profile, or it was entered with a typo. Add it exactly as shown in How to Connect to Amazon DSP (Step 4), save, and connect again.
- "Invalid Scope" when you sign in: Your security profile does not have the required Amazon Ads API scopes. Follow Amazon Ads Error: Invalid Scope; the same fix applies to Amazon DSP.
- You connected, but no advertisers appear: Check that your DSP advertisers are linked to an Amazon Ads manager account your Amazon login can access, and that you chose the region where those advertisers are managed.
- You connected Amazon Ads, but your DSP campaigns have no data: Amazon Ads does not include Amazon DSP campaigns. Add Amazon DSP as its own data source.
