How to Connect to LinkedIn Ads

How to Connect to LinkedIn Ads

Info
Looking to bring your LinkedIn Ads data into a single, automated reporting workflow? This guide will walk you through connecting LinkedIn Ads as a data source in Power My Analytics, so you can centralize your B2B advertising metrics, create comprehensive reports, and make data-driven decisions about your campaigns and revenue attribution.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:
  • A LinkedIn account with Viewer access (or higher) to the LinkedIn ad account you want to connect
If you do not yet have Viewer access, follow Step 1 below to grant it before continuing.
Notes
Migrating from LinkedIn Business Manager? As of July 30, 2025, the standalone LinkedIn Business Manager connector has been discontinued, and Revenue Attribution Report (RAR) functionality has been consolidated into the LinkedIn Ads connector. For details, see LinkedIn Business Manager July 30, 2025 Migration to LinkedIn Ads.

Step 1: Grant Viewer Access in LinkedIn Ads

To grant Viewer access to a user on a LinkedIn ad account:
  1. Go to your LinkedIn ad account and click Add people.
  2. Find the user you want to add and click Assign role.
  3. Select the Viewer role and click Add.
Notes
Power My Analytics' connector will never edit, create, or delete anything in your LinkedIn Ads account. Viewer access is the minimum role required for the connector to read your reporting data.

Step 2: Add LinkedIn Ads as a Data Source in Power My Analytics

  1. Log in to your Power My Analytics hub at https://hub.powermyanalytics.com.
  2. Navigate to Sources from the main menu.
  3. Click + Add new source.
  4. Select LinkedIn Ads from the list of available sources.
  5. Sign in to your LinkedIn account using credentials with Viewer access from Step 1.
  6. Authorize the requested permission scopes to complete the connection.
Once connected, LinkedIn Ads will appear in your list of active data sources. Your LinkedIn Ads data will automatically begin syncing to your Power My Analytics data warehouse — 13 months of historical data is imported automatically on the initial backfill, with up to 2 years available via manual backfill. When the initial backfill is finished, you can use this data in Looker Studio reports, Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, or export it to your preferred data destination.
Notes
Demographic data delay: Demographic reporting is delayed by up to 48 hours and is unavailable for paused campaigns. Several other demographic limitations apply (no age or device-type breakdowns, minimum-event thresholds for privacy) — see the LinkedIn Ads Data Connector User Guide for the full list.
Notes
Revenue Attribution Reports (RAR): RAR metrics are now included with the LinkedIn Ads connector. RAR data is live-only (not cached) and requires a date range between 30 and 366 days. Daily granularity is not available for RAR metrics.
