Etsy Data Connector User Guide

Power My Analytics' Etsy data connector allows you to automatically collect, store, and visualize your Etsy shop data without relying on manual exports. This guide will walk you through connecting your Etsy account and understanding key metrics to help you make data-driven decisions for your Etsy business.

Prerequisites

Before connecting your Etsy account to Power My Analytics, ensure you have:
  1. An active Etsy seller account

Adding Etsy as a Data Source

  1. Log in to your Power My Analytics hub.
  2. Navigate to the Sources section in the left sidebar menu.



  3. Click + Add new source and choose Etsy from the gallery.



  4. Log in to Etsy using your seller account and authorize any required permission scopes.
You will be redirected back to Power My Analytics, where your Etsy account will now appear in your Sources list.

Creating a Looker Studio Report

Follow these steps to create a Looker Studio report using your Etsy data:
  1. After adding Etsy as a data source, go to Reports > Looker Studio in your PMA hub
  2. Select Etsy under Create Looker Studio Report (this will open the official Looker Studio application in a new window)
  3. Google Looker Studio Configuration:
    1. Step 1:
      1. Name your data source (e.g., "Etsy - Your Business Name")
      2. Choose your Power My Analytics hub from the dropdown menu
      3. Optional: Leave "Use report template for new reports" checked to use the PMA demo template
      4. Click Next
    2. Step 2:
      1. User Account: Select your Etsy account (for real data) or "Sample Account" (to use sample data)
      2. Click Next
    3. Step 3:
      1. Click Connect in the top right to complete the data source configuration
    4. Step 4:
      1. Click Create Report in the top right

Key Reports and Fields

Etsy data in Power My Analytics offers a wide range of metrics and dimensions for your reports. Some popular metrics include:
  • Key Performance Metrics: Listing Views, Items Sold, Shop Num Favorites, Review Average, Review Count, Orders by City and State
  • Order Metrics: Order Date, Name, Tracking Number, Quantity, Receipt ID, SKU, Shipping Cost, Order Amount, Order Status, Description, City, State, Date Completed
  • Listing Metrics: In Stock, Listing Views, Listing Favorites, Updated Date, Listing Name, Listing Description, Listing Status, Tags, SKU
  • Review Metrics: Review Date, Review Text, Review Stars, Reviewer ID

Limitations and Important Considerations

  1. Backfilling: Power My Analytics can backfill up to 1 year of historical data from Etsy. When you first connect your Etsy account, an initial backfill of 1 year of data will be performed.
