Pinterest Analytics Data Connector User Guide

Pinterest Analytics Data Connector User Guide

The following article is a guide to automating reports with your Pinterest Analytics connector. It includes information on available data as well as currently unavailable data and tips on how to get the most out of your Pinterest Analytics reports. To begin creating reports with your Pinterest Analytics connector, you will need at least one Pinterest Analytics account as well as access to Looker Studio or Google Sheets.

Available Data

  1. Key Performance Indicators - Followers, following, pins, and boards.
  2. Boards Reporting - Sort by images and names, display pin counts, followers, and collaborators.
  3. Pins Breakdowns - Image, date, descriptions, and re-pins.
  4. Complete list of fields .

API Limitations

  1. Following Count will show a higher number in your report than in Pinterest's UI. Pinterest's API includes accounts and interests in Following Count.
  2. Followers, Following, Boards, and Pins data is lifetime and cannot be backfilled or used in daily growth reports.
  3. Custom fields are not available.
  4. Repin Count, Comment Count, and Likes Count were deprecated in July 2023 with the upgrade to v5.
  5. Pinterest only refreshes at midnight UTC. This cannot be adjusted for your local time zone.

Connection Requirements

The account owner's login credentials are required for successful reporting.

Backfilling

Include Today in the date range when you run your first report. Many fields, including Followers, Following, Boards, and Pins are lifetime and cannot be backfilled. We will begin collecting data the first time you create a report so you can have historical data going forward. Power My Analytics will automatically backfill 13 months of data in all non-lifetime metrics. Run a manual backfill to get up to 2 years of data on non-lifetime metrics.

Troubleshooting

See this article for questions about inflated Following Count.
For all other errors, follow the instructions in our Basic Troubleshooting guide to get your reports working again.
