Spotify Advertising Data Connector User Guide
Spotify Advertising allows marketers to track and analyze their audio, video, and display ad campaigns across the Spotify platform. This guide will help you connect your Spotify Advertising data to Power My Analytics and create insightful reports.
Prerequisites
Before connecting Spotify Advertising to Power My Analytics:
- Make sure you have an active Spotify Advertising account
- Make sure you are already logged in to the Spotify account that you want to connect as a data source
Adding Spotify Advertising as a Data Source
- Navigate to your PMA Hub and select Sources from the menu.
- Click + New Data Source and choose Spotify Advertising from the gallery of data sources.
- Click "Agree" to allow Spotify to connect to the PMA Spotify App.
Creating a Looker Studio Report
Follow these steps to create a Looker Studio report using your Spotify Advertising data:
- In the PMA hub, navigate to Reports > Looker Studio
- Select Spotify Advertising under Create Looker Studio Report (this will open the official Looker Studio application in a new window)
- Google Looker Studio Configuration:
- Step 1:
- Name your data source (e.g. "Spotify Advertising - Organization Name")
- Power My Analytics hub: Choose your Power My Analytics hub from the dropdown
- Optional: Leave "Use report template" checked to use the PMA demo template
- Click Next
- Step 2:
- User Account: Select your Spotify Advertising account (for real data) or "Sample Account" (for sample data)
- Click Next
- Step 3:
- Ad Accounts: Choose Ad Accounts for report
- Optional: Allow "Ad Accounts" modification in reports
- Click Connect (top right) to complete the data source configuration
- Step 4:
- Click Create Report (top right)
Key Reports and Fields
The Spotify Advertising connector provides access to a variety of advertising data, including:
- Key Performance Metrics: Impressions, Click Through Rate, Frequency, Reach, Spend, Clicks
- Campaign Performance Metrics: Impressions on Spotify, Impressions off Spotify, Ad Completes, Reach, Frequency, Frequency of Ad Completes, Clicks, Click Through Rate, Listener Conversion Rate, Video Views, Video Expands, Video Expand Rate
- Ad Set Metrics: Ad Set Average Daily Budget, Impressions on Spotify, Impressions off Spotify, Ad Completes, Reach, Reach of ad completes, Frequency, Frequency of Ad Completes, Clicks, Click Through Rate, Listener Conversion Rate, Video Views, Video Expands, Campaign Objective
- Ad Performance Metrics: Impressions on Spotify, Impressions off Spotify, Ad Completes, Reach, Frequency, Frequency of Ad Completes, Clicks, Click Through Rate, Played to 25%, Played to 50%, Played to 75%, Played to 100%

Limitations and Important Considerations
- Backfilling: Power My Analytics initially backfills 12 months of data when you first connect your Spotify Advertising data source.
- Ad Set Format reporting: “Ad Set Format” is only available at the ad set level.
- Campaign Objective reporting: “Campaign Objective” is only available at the campaign level.
